Hoop Night is your daily preview of televised NCAA action. Hoops junkie that I am, I won't watch any of these games, because my alma mama is in the Orange Bowl for the first time since the year I was born. Let me know how the roundball turned out, OK?
Don't Miss
#5 UCLA at #20 Stanford - 10:30pm, FSN
Stanford has been hanging tough this season, winning two road games in Big 12 territory and losing only at Siena. UCLA's solo blemish is a bit more impressive - a two-point loss at home to a Final Four-worthy Texas team. This is a great way to kick off the Pac-10 season if you're a viewer, however. With Brook and Robin Lopez reunited and hitting the glass with authority, this could be a tough one for UCLA.
Watch if you think Bob Huggins might be a Dapper Dan Man
West Virginia at Notre Dame - 7pm, ESPN2
The only people who are happy to see Bob Huggins coming their way are bartenders and athletic directors who need a quick turnaround. Opponents sure aren't feeling friendly, because the man sure can coach - I'm a convert on that score. Notre Dame hasn't lost since mid-November, which is considerably less impressive when you notice that they haven't played a single road game yet, and won't until they visit Marquette on January 12.
Tivo it and Watch Mark Mangino and Frank Beamer Stare at Each Other
Virginia at Xavier - 8pm, College Sports Television
In my book, these are two teams that will never blow anyone away, but are likely to make the NCAA tournament anyway. It's an excellent point guard matchup, with Drew Lavender averaging 12ppg and 5apg, and Sean Singletary putting up 18 and 7, but with more turnovers.

Totally stupid, irrational prediction that I have a strange feeling about: Siena gives Memphis a game tonight.
Georgia Southern-Davidson is a very underrated game tonight
Villanova completely shit the bed tonight.
