Hoop Weekend attempts to collect the televised NCAA hoops games for your scheduling perusal. I finally figured out that I was missing late-night games because they were after midnight for me, and thus were showing up on the next day's schedule. Genius, I am.
Don't Miss
USC at #4 UCLA - 3:30pm Saturday, CBS
The relative rankings don't matter here, this is bound to be a fiercely-played game. Conventional wisdom says Love & Co. run away with this one, but conventional wisdom has been a pretty shaky source of information lately. If Mayo and his compatriots can win this one on the road, they rehabilitate their national profile in a big hurry.
Watch in Hopes that Paulus Gets Dunked On
#23 Clemson at #5 Duke - 6pm Saturday, ESPN
Duke's Greg Paulus seems to be running away with our "Most Hated Man in College Ball" survey, so there's one reason to watch. The other is the schadenfreude involved in watching for the annual Clemson Collapse. After a couple of losses, the Tigers rebounded with home wins over Florida State and NC State. Since this doesn't say "State" or "home game", trouble is imminent.
Tivo it and Watch for signs of the "Freshman Fifteen"
#9 Texas A&M at Kansas State - 4pm Saturday, ESPN
A&M's DeAndre Jordan isn't in the same class as K State's Michael Beasley, but this is still a chance at a statement for both teams. The Aggies dropped a game to R.M. Knight the other day that is likely sticking in their craws. The Wildcats seem to be playing desultory basketball and waiting for the NBA to come calling. Pride is on the line.

Damn, best game of the day isn't on TV (Drake-Illinois State)
Dude, no way on earth USC makes that a game. USC could barely handle WSU's defense; what makes you think it can do any more against UCLA, which made WSU look like a bottom-feeder for most of that game? USC turns the ball over a ridiculous amount -- 216th in the country in TO% -- on which the Bruins will feast.
Trust your conventional wisdom. This will be a blowout.

i think USC could surprise LA. the trojans have played the bruins pretty heads-up the last few years...and watch out for dwight lewis who's been playing pretty well lately.
No way. The reason the Trojans have played UCLA tough is because they had talent. USC desperately misses Nick Young and Lodrick Stewart -- this is a shell of the team it was last year. Most everyone thought Mayo could overcome those losses. He can't. We all vastly overestimated the talent left behind.
Do you realize WSU put up a 123.3 efficiency rating against USC in the Galen Center? What do you think UCLA will do?
Take the 11 points to the bank.

Three top 5 team are currently losing in the second half at home.....Slingbox is fully functional...I am in college hoops heaven
UCLA goes down
and Carolina...if your not excited for March after this afternoon, I don't know what to tell you
Texas A&M; sure looked like a joke against Kansas State
I don't usually do this, but "I told you so". In rivalry games, records don't matter, and that's why I gave USC some credit.
You were right. I was wrong. Although I will say that I think USC's success had a lot more to do with UCLA playing like crap for the first 30 minutes. The Bruins let USC hang around far too long, and once you get to the last 10 minutes, well, anything can happen.
I only wish UCLA had played like that against WSU. We might've had a shot.
Well, even more astounding to me is Maryland beating UNC - they have looked truly awful this season.
I was in the risers for the UNC-Maryland game, and despite, the upset/Carolina's inconsistent play, it was a great game. I will say this, though: Greivis Vasquez is a douche in person. (That's why we were booing him whenever he got the ball in the second half, in case you heard that on TV.)
Yeah, but UNC had been flirting with disaster for a couple of weeks now. It's surprising the Heels lost at home, but I'm hardly surprised they lost.
Yeah, I know. The inconsistent play is frustrating.
Get out the defibrillator pads and call a Code Blue... UVA won it's first ACC game! Now where's my nitro?
