Game of the Night
Tennessee 81 Vanderbilt 61
It looks likes all those low efficiency ratings have finally caught up to the Commodores. This one was blowout form tip-off. The Vols used their superior speed and pressure D to completely control tempo of this one and force 21 Vandy turnovers. With the Vols seemingly improving by the week, their February 23rd showdown at Memphis is looking like the game of the year.
Also Intriguing
Louisville 71 Marquette 51
Even Marquette's awesome blue unis couldn't stop the quickly rising Cardinals. Just an example of what injuries can do to a team. Finally healthy, the Cards got 20 from Terrence Williams and 17 from David Padgett in the rout . Looking for our Big East sleeper? Look at the Cards.
(More bad news for Marquette, Dominic James appeared to re-injury his wrist)
Indiana 65 Minnesota 60
Just anther example of why I think the Hoosiers might be this year's tournament sleeper. Even with Eric Gordon playing his worst game of the season (12 points, foul trouble), players like Jordan Crawford (18 points), DJ White (17 points) and Lance Stemler (clutch 3) stepped up late to win a tough, tough road game.

Marco, I've gotta agree with you about those Hoosiers. For anybody that didn't watch the game, IU turned the ball 26 times and sent Minnesota to the charity stripe 21 times. Package that with Gordon's sub-par performance, and it made for a difficult night for the Hoosiers. But a win on the road - in a very hostile environment - nonetheless.
The Hoosiers do continue to look like a team that could be a beast come tournament time.
However, last night didn't make me feel that way. Way too many turnovers and a very sloppily played game. You can get away with that against bad teams, but against good ones you'll lose. IU kept its roll going last night, simply because the schedule maker was kind. They survived a subpar performance against a subpar opponent. But a performance like that when it matters will send them home for the spring.
Personally, I was distracted by the McDonald's logos on the Williams Arena stairs.
I think you stretched the parameters of the word "sleeper" twice.
Man, I was so disappointed in my maroon and gold last night! It was Tubby Time!
I think one of the biggest things last night is to see how much of a difference it makes to play on the road in the Big East. If you can go about 3-6 or 4-5 on the road in the BE this year you could easily win the conference because there might be a lot of teams in that conference that will struggle to get more than two wins on the road.
Marquette looked so terrible last night against Louisville I couldn't believe it. UL showed if you go at the Golden Eagles as vigorously as they will go at you on the defensive side on the floor in a 2-3 zone, Marquette isn't going to be able to score.
As talented as Marquette is, I think those guys are in big time trouble, especially if Dominique James goes out.
