Get Better Dickie V

I'm sure by now that everyone knows about Dickie V's surgery , but I just wanted to take the time to wish him a speedy recovery from his throat surgery. It's really going to feel weird watching ACC Wednesday night basketball without him until February at the earliest, almost like the first New Year's without Dick Clark.

Vitale's got his share of critics out there, but don't count me as one of them. The thing that I admire most amount the man is that he obviously has a passion for the game of college basketball that is almost unbridled. You can feel how much the game means to him, which is saying something considering he is on television, not speaking to you in your living room. And passion for college basketball is one of the main principles on which Storming the Floor was created If we didn't have a tremoundous passion for everything in the college basketball universe, Extra P and myself wouldn't be spending the few free hours of the day that we have to constantly update this blog for free.

Does Dickie V hurt my ear drums on occasion? Yes. Does his love affair with Duke get on my nerves? Sure, just like everyone else. Still, you always know that it is a big game when Dickie V is in the house and you know he would be out there for free if he had to. So get better Dickie V, it's going to be weird without you.
