Players of the Week

The world of college basketball teams is a very busy one this year as it shapes up to produce some outstanding players.  This isn't to say that it isn't like that every year though.  The players have had some time to get used to each others styles and to mesh into a team.  The seniors have proved themselves for many years now and they are hoping to get to the NBA, so the stage now belongs to the new college basketball picks.  Actually they have been playing the game for at least a year in college and are now poised to break out and strut their stuff.  The freshman year is one where players are getting in the best shape of their lives and where they got to sit on the bench more than they would have liked.  As with anything else seniority reigns in college hoops too.


The time for these college basketball picks is upon them and they are ready to show the world just how good they are.  A few names you will want to watch on the courts and what college basketball team they play for follows.  Cole Aldrich, who plays for Kansas as a center has jumped into the spotlight this year and is one of the great college basketball picks.  He was a McDonald's All-American player, but had to pay his dues in his first year at college watching Arthur and Jackson from the sidelines mostly.  During the Final Four he drew attention to himself when he scored eight points against North Carolina. 

Kalin Lucas plays for Michigan State and realizes that to win you have to be a college basketball team player.  While the Spartans have been slow to start the hard work that Lucas has put forth is benefitting the college basketball team as well as himself.  While his freshman and sophomore scores are pretty consistent he has shown great potential this year, with more assists than turnovers.  This college basketball pick is one to keep your eyes on.

Duke University has long been known as the powerhouse of college basketball teams and with the help of Nolan Smith they may be uncommonly hazardous.  Smith is one player who unseated his senior teammate and took the starting position.  One of the 'on the rise' college basketball picks Nolan Smith has work to do at running the half-court. He shines at offensive play and the other college basketball teams are taking notice.

There are two more powerhouse players that should be added to the best college basketball picks and they play for the Villanova and Wake Forest college basketball teams.  Corey Stokes of Villanova and Jeff Teague of Wake Forest are burning up the court this year.  Assisting their college basketball teams to winning games is what these two are inclined to do.  While Stokes had a bit of an adjustment as a freshman player he has overcome it and went on to win a starting position in the Big East tournament.  Wake Forest is pleased with the performance of Jeff Teague as one of the best college basketball picks because of the strength of his shooting ability.  The maturity that has come with all of the college basketball picks this season should provide some interesting games.
